Welcome, brave adventurer, to the world of Dungeons and Dragons. Here you can set out on grand quests, face fearsome monsters, and get laid if you're so inclined.

Now you might be asking yourself "Ashley, how dangerous are these adventures? What was in that phone book of a contract my character's employer made them sign? Are my characters in danger?" Let me answer these questions with another question: Who wants to make 60 gold pieces?
In all seriousness though, The world of dungeons and dragons is a gargantuan one, rich with fantasy flavor and character development just waiting to happen. The world itself is comprised of several dimensions:

but you can read about them in the books. Now, maybe you don't have the books. That's why you're here, isn't it? Because without 30$ to spend on one of those tomes, you've got no idea how to play. Well look no further, friend! ... well, look to the end of this- just keep reading. Cause it's here! Courtesy of yours truly, the books will be uploaded here for your very own convenience. Now, because there's a bloody massive amount of D&D books, I'll just be uploading some essentials, but if you want more you can find them easily enough on the internet, or you can ask me via PM. If it exists, chances are I have it, or can find it, and I can send it to you via several chat programs.

Now, maybe you don't like 4th Edition; maybe you want 3.5, or pathfinder. Well, you're more than welcome to start threads similar to this one right here in this forum for those editions. I myself have exactly 0 knowledge about those editions; 4e is what I was introduced to, and it's what I know.

So, for now, I'm going to try the attach file feature right here on the site, but if that doesn't work I'll have them uploaded soon. Till then, chat at me for your D&D4e needs and I'll gladly oblige.
(^ Bad news here; the attach file function does not like my PDFs... so, we're gonna have to rely on the torrents.)

oh, and theres also this:
The basic books. It works okay, but its not very good. I'm looking for a better one to put here-
http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/11808...ion?tab=summary
A lot more books-
http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/33857...ion?tab=summary

I have used both of these torrents and nothing bad has happened to me because of it... yet.

Now, you probably want to make a character. Well, you can bust out a pen or paper (or a word doc) and write and calculate it all yourself, OR you can use some of the options here:

www.pathguy.com/cg4.htm

This one is okay, nice and up to date near as I can tell, and plenty easy to use. My only problem is it doesn't tell you what your options do; just what book they're in. So, usable, but not my preference.

This is my preference: The official Wizards of the Coast character builder... which is no longer supported. Hasn't been since 2010. So it's perfect, except if you want anything newer than 2010, you have to input it manually. You also have to find more updates for it. I have a few my self but...

Lastly we have this. I haven't used this thing, but rumor has it it's a mod of the WotC character builder, and it can use unofficial updates to get newer stuff.

Okay so! That should be everything... right? Hmmmm... OH. HOW DO YOU PLAY ONLINE? 4th edition requires a map, and minis, and all that stuff D: What are we to do?

This is a question I've asked myself ever since I got into the game, and realized I had no friends who lived near me. In all my searching, I found this

http://www.rpgobjects.com/index.php?c=orpg&m=getorpg

Tada! You want to play Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition online? This is your best bet. OpenRPG. It's not perfect, nothing that's free is, right? but it's close as you can get. It's got a built-in dice roller, map-maker, and all that good stuff. You can add in your own miniatures in the form of .gifs (.jpgs work too, but, well, youll see when you use em). It's as simple as adding them to photobucket, and copying it into the program. You can also connect to other players on the ORPG servers, and move the minis around and stuff and yeah! It's a good time.

So there you go! You are now fully equipped to play Dungeons and Dragons online! May your dice see your characters safely through whatever horrors your DM has in store~
